Qualifications for Trooper Candidate
Troopers are comprised of both men and women from all walks of life. A&O supplies uniforms, saddles, bridles, saddle pads, and night and safety gear. (Seasonal concert riders must provide their own saddle and bridles.) Troopers ride by the impeccable standards of professionalism and horsemanship found in the A&O Standard Operating Procedures Manual. A&O maintains liability insurance coverage in excess of the standards required by law.

A candidate for the Alpha & Omega Mounted Security Patrol must meet the following qualifications:

- You must own or have access to a horse, truck, and trailer.
- Candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Weight must be proportionate to the rider's height.
- Good physical condition and substance free.
- Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED.
- Candidate must have an extensive background in horseback riding and in the care, grooming, feeding
   and other necessities of good equine management.
- Troopers may have to be licensed by a state security licensing board where assigned. Troopers
   cannot have a conviction for a felony or a crime of moral turpitude.

Troopers must possess people skills that enable them to easily talk with adults and children. We are professionally trained observers on horseback and are customer service oriented. We require our riders to be courteous, pleasant, knowledgeable and informative at all times.
